BOOK BIND AN ARTIST'S JOURNAL with Sandra D'Mello

Task 1:

Use watercolour paper and simple tools to bind your own artist sketch book / journal using the 3 hole pamphlet stitch. On completion, you can collage and embellish the cover to your liking.

Task 2:

Then, we'll create an artist sketch book / journal with an exposed spine and a hard cover. This lay flat book features the charming French links sewn on the spine. Decorate and embellish however you choose. Difficulty: medium.

TUTOR: Sandra D'Mello - Sandra has a background as a primary school teacher, trained in International Baccalaureate and has taught at Mentone Girls Grammar. As an artist, she has an interest in bookbinding, print-making and painting in all media, recently including textiles in her art. She has studied at the National Art School in Sydney. Sandra is a member of the Victorian Artists Society and exhibits there, as well as other galleries in Victoria.
