About the event
What to bring: Participants need to bring up to 4 pieces (size of a 10cm cube (a large cup). These need to have been bisque fired already. Participants may get to fire 2 more pieces on the day if space allows)
Participants can purchase additional bisque fired pieces from Ray at $5/piece if they wish. Participants are encouraged to bring natural materials (feathers, leaves…) to fire with their pieces.
Arrangements on the day:
Ray will arrive about 8.30 and set up ready for 9.00 am. Day finishes at 4.30pm.
There are 5 glazes for students to use: a white Crackel, Shiny white, Copper red, Cobalt blue and a Copper green.
You are most welcome to use your own glazes if you wish.
Ray will do 2 firings which take about 2 - 2.5 hours so we need to get the kiln loaded and lit by 10.30am. The second firing pieces can be glazed while the first firing is getting to temperature. The second firing is 30 minutes to 1 hour quicker than the first.
