About the event
So often we think of beauty in classical terms such as bouquets of flowers or the prime of youth. In this workshop you will be invited to expand your thinking to include the beauty of mundane objects which serve us daily with humility and constancy, and make our life more pleasurable in big or small ways.
We will look for inspiration at a range of artists, such Andy Warhol, Van Gogh and others, who painted engaging works of mundane objects. Participants will also be guided through exercises aimed at loosening up and improving our observation skills in addition to some colour mixing tips.
We will then explore various ways of painting our chosen object.
Bring along an object/objects that you value in your daily life (not an electronic device). Examples include a shoe/a pair of shoes, a toothbrush and toothpaste, pegs, makeup, a jar or tin of food, eetc. Also…
