CERAMIC SCULPTURE - 4 WEEKS

Service Description

We will plan, construct and complete a sculptural work using a range of techniques to suit your project. You may do concurrent smaller projects or one primary work. Week 1 Planning your project - inspiration, concept, scale and construction methods. Explanation/ demonstration and examples of different construction methods and what types of projects they suit. Building the foundation of your piece(s). Week 2 Developing the work, including structural aspects, adding components, creating texture. You can also work with colour at this stage if you want. Week 3 Focus on surface: texture, colour, embellishment. Week 4 NO CLASS THIS WEEK. 1 week break for your pieces to dry. Week 5 Glazing or finishing surface treatments. Tutor: Toni Roberts Adult class (18+) INCLUDES: • Expert teaching from our highly experienced tutors. • Purchase a half bag or full bag of clay when you sign up. You can also bring along clay that you have purchased previously from BAG. Please note that we cannot allow clays in the studio that have been purchased outside of BAG due to Council safety requirements. • Use of our studio pottery tools • All decorating, glazing and firing • Any additional clay, materials, firing and glazing will attract additional charges.
