Service Description
We explore different oil painting techniques, creating the presence of light and controlling values. Learn how to mix and use oil paints and how to develop atmosphere and drama in your work. Please note that we will be using safe studio equipment such as odourless spirits. BEGINNERS WELCOME. NB - Materials (brushes, paints, canvas/paper) are not included in the price. Students to bring their own. Recommendations provided below as well as in the first session. MATERIALS: • A set of student oil paints (yellow, red, blue, green, black, white, maybe ochre, burnt sienna and raw umber) • A set of oil brushes • Art Spectrum Lean Medium • Gamsol odourless mineral spirit • Maybe some safflower oil (from the supermarket) • A canvas pad and/or canvas boards • Painting rags • Empty jam jars.
